Early CareerMike Green, a Canadian professional hockey player, began his hockey journey in Calgary, Alberta.
He spent five full seasons with the Saskatoon Blades of the Western Hockey League. In his final season with the team, he notched 39 points and scored 14 goals.
NHL Debut
Green's outstanding performance earned him the attention of the Washington Capitals, who selected him in the 1st Round (29th overall) of the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.
He spent the 2005-06 season with the Hershey Bears in the American Hockey League (AHL) before making his NHL debut with the Capitals on February 3, 2006. He scored his first NHL goal against Ed Belfour of the Toronto Maple Leafs.
